Sunday Celebration

10am @ Durrington Community Centre

Hi and welcome to Kingdom Faith Church!

We’re Christians from loads of different cultures and backgrounds with one thing in common...we love Jesus Christ!

We have been on an exciting journey with God as Worthing Congregation and we are excited for the new steps He has for us in 2025.

Last year God has gave us three words we focused on: REGATHER, REDEFINE & REPRODUCE. To find out more you can catch up on the podcast from the 09 June 2024 where we take you on the journey and unpack what we believe God was saying to us.

One of the practical steps we took in response to that was to bring our time of meeting at Worthing College to an end. Over the next few months we believed it to be right for us to meet in homes and in public spaces outdoors. Coming into 2025 God opened up a new door of opportunity for us. From Sunday 23 of February we will be meeting in the Durrington Community Centre in West Worthing. You can catch up on us sharing about it on the podcast from 05 of January 2025 and find details in our calendar.

Because of what God has been doing among us we do treasure being church in smaller gatherings too. So once a month we will be meeting homes in and around Worthing on Sundays. Click here for more information.

We are looking forward to everything God has for us as we continue to follow Him and we would love to welcome you and for you to join us journey!

If you have any questions or want to find out more, you can speak to Kai or Andrea or email worthing@kingdomfaith.com

going deeper ...to go further

Daily Bible reading strengthens our relationship with God, nourishes our spirits and equips us to live a fruitful, effective life for Him.

This month we're looking at passages leading up to Easter alongside scriptures that talk about the victory of the cross and the power of Jesus' blood.

  • LUK 23:1-49 Luke 23:1-49
  • ISA 53 Isaiah 53
  • Pilate finds no fault in Jesus1Then the whole council rose and led Him to Pilate.2They began to accuse Him by saying: "We have found that this man is perverting our nation, forbidding the payment of taxes to Caesar and calling Himself Christ the King!"3Pilate questioned Him: "Are You the King of the Jews?"4Then Pilate told the chief priests and those with them: "I do not find this Man guilty of any crime."5But they persisted, claiming: "Throughout Judea and all over the country from Galilee to here, He has stirred up the people with His teaching."6On hearing this, Pilate asked if He was a Galilean.7Hearing that He was, and was therefore under Herod's authority, he sent Him to Herod who happened to be in Jerusalem at that time.Herod mocks Jesus8Herod was really pleased to see Jesus. For a long time he had wanted to meet Him because of all that he had heard about Him, and he hoped to see Him perform a miracle.9Herod questioned Jesus at length, but He said nothing in reply.10-11The chief priests and teachers of the law accused Him aggressively, while Herod and His soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. They dressed Him in a splendid robe and sent Him back to Pilate.12That day Herod and Pilate became friends, although before they had been enemies.Jews urge Pilate to crucify Jesus13-14Pilate called together the chief priests and other leaders and told them: "You brought this Man to me accusing Him of stirring rebellion among the people. I have questioned Him in your presence and have found no evidence to substantiate these accusations you have brought against Him.15Nor could Herod find Him guilty, for he returned Him to our jurisdiction, having found He has done nothing deserving of the death penalty.16Therefore I will have Him flogged and will then release Him."17-18It was customary for Pilate to release one prisoner to the people at the feast so they all shouted: "Condemn this Man and give us Barabbas instead."19Barabbas had been thrown into prison for causing an insurrection in the city and for murder.20-21Again, Pilate made it clear to them that he wanted to release Jesus. But they shouted: "Crucify, crucify Him."22For a third time Pilate said to them: "Why? What crime has He committed? I have found He has done nothing that deserves the death penalty. So I shall have Him flogged and will then release Him."23-24But the crowd persisted, shouting even more loudly and demanding that Jesus be crucified. Finally their voices prevailed and Pilate decided to give in to their demands.25He released the man who was in prison, guilty of rebellion and murder, and for whom they had asked; Jesus he surrendered to their wishes.Simon of Cyrene assists Jesus carry the cross26As they led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene who had come from a country district and made him walk behind Jesus carrying the cross.27A great crowd of people followed, including some women who mourned and grieved for Jesus.28-29Turning to them He said: "Daughters of Jerusalem, don't cry for Me. Weep for yourselves and your children because the time is coming when they will say, 'Blessed are the barren and the breasts that never nursed.'30-31Then people will say to the mountains, 'Fall on us,' and to the hills, 'Cover us', because if they do such things when the tree is full of sap what will they do when it is dried wood?"King of the Jews crucified32Two others, who were criminals, were also taken to be crucified with Him.33When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified Him together with the two criminals, one on either side of Him.34And Jesus said: "Father, forgive them, for they do not understand what they are doing." They divided His clothes between them by casting lots for them.35People stood by, staring and ridiculing Him. The leaders taunted: "He saved others, now let Him save Himself! If this Man really is the Christ, God's Chosen One!"36-37The soldiers also mocked Him. They came near and offered Him vinegar, saying: "If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself."38And a sign was placed above Him on which was written: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.39-40One of the criminals cursed Him, but the other one rebuked him and said: "Have you no fear of God; you are under the same judgment.41We are being punished justly for we deserve the sentence passed against us; but this Man has done nothing wrong!"42Then he said: "Jesus, please think of me when You enter Your Kingdom."43And Jesus answered: "Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise."Jesus' death44-45By now it was about midday and darkness fell all over the land and persisted until three o'clock; it was as if the sun had gone out. And the curtain concealing the Holy of holies in the temple was torn apart.46Jesus cried out in a loud voice: "Father, I commit My Spirit into Your hands." And then He died.47Seeing what had happened, the centurion glorified God saying: "This was truly a righteous Man."48Those in the crowd that had been watching saw what happened and returned to their homes, beating their breasts in anguish.49All those who knew Jesus, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching these events.

  • 1Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?2He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.3He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. 4Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.5But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.6We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way;and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth;he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.8By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.9He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.11After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied;by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.12Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

  • S.O.A.P.

In order to go further in the mission God has given us, He said we need to go deeper in our relationship with Him. As with any tree or plant, the fruit is determined by the health and depth of the root. One way we have been going deeper is by reading and journaling through the Word every day. We’ve called it S.O.A.P.

    [S]cripture - Read the Word
[O]bservation - Write down what God is saying/showing you
[A]pplication - How do we apply this in our lives?
[P]rayer - Pray through and over your life

As we read the Word (Scripture), listen to the Holy Spirit (Observation), discover how to apply that to our lives (Application) and pray these things over our lives and those in the Church (Prayer) we’re going deeper in our relationship with God so that we can go further in the mission He’s given us.

Throughout the rest of the year we’ll be continuing our Bible Reading Plan to press deeper into God so that we can go further in His purposes. Get yourself a Bible, a journal and a pen and SOAP your way through the scriptures!

You can see which chapters we’re reading today above this section.
