Sunday Celebration

10am @ Durrington Community Centre

Hi and welcome to Kingdom Faith Church!

We’re Christians from loads of different cultures and backgrounds with one thing in common...we love Jesus Christ!

We have been on an exciting journey with God as Worthing Congregation and we are excited for the new steps He has for us in 2025.

Last year God has gave us three words we focused on: REGATHER, REDEFINE & REPRODUCE. To find out more you can catch up on the podcast from the 09 June 2024 where we take you on the journey and unpack what we believe God was saying to us.

One of the practical steps we took in response to that was to bring our time of meeting at Worthing College to an end. Over the next few months we believed it to be right for us to meet in homes and in public spaces outdoors. Coming into 2025 God opened up a new door of opportunity for us. From Sunday 23 of February we will be meeting in the Durrington Community Centre in West Worthing. You can catch up on us sharing about it on the podcast from 05 of January 2025 and find details in our calendar.

Because of what God has been doing among us we do treasure being church in smaller gatherings too. So once a month we will be meeting homes in and around Worthing on Sundays. Click here for more information.

We are looking forward to everything God has for us as we continue to follow Him and we would love to welcome you and for you to join us journey!

If you have any questions or want to find out more, you can speak to Kai or Andrea or email worthing@kingdomfaith.com

going deeper ...to go further

Daily Bible reading strengthens our relationship with God, nourishes our spirits and equips us to live a fruitful, effective life for Him.

This month we're looking at the Christmas story alongside some passages that talk about the coming Messiah - Jesus - from the Old Testament.

  • PSA 110 Psalm 110
  • JAM 1 James 1
  • Of David. A psalm.1The Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” 2The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of your enemies!”3Your troops will be willing on your day of battle.Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb. 4The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind:“You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” 5The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.6He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.7He will drink from a brook along the way, and so he will lift his head high.

  • Perseverance1From James, servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. To all the Jewish believers that are dispersed among the nations: Greetings!2-3My dear brothers and sisters, react with real joy when you have to face many kinds of opposition and difficulty, for you know that we only learn to persevere when our faith is tested.4This perseverance is essential if we are to become mature, being the people God wants us to be, lacking nothing.5You should ask God to supply the wisdom you need, for He gives generously and unreservedly to all who ask.6However, you must believe when you ask and not doubt His willingness to give, for anyone who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.7-8Such a person is double minded and unreliable in everything he does and should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.9The believer who comes from a humble background ought to be thankful for the noble status God has given him.10The wealthy one should be thankful that God has humbled him, for despite his possessions he will suffer the same fate as the wild flower.11For when the sun shines with scorching heat, the plant withers, its bloom fades and its beauty is destroyed. In like manner, the wealthy one will fade even though he prospers in his worldly affairs.12The man who perseveres in his faith, when tested, is blessed. Having passed the test, he will be rewarded with the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.13When facing temptation, no one should ever say "God is tempting me." It is impossible for God to be tempted by evil, nor will He ever tempt anyone.14A person is tempted by his own evil desire. This is what entices him.15If he dwells on the desire it will lead to sin, and fully-developed sin ends in spiritual death.16So, my dear brothers, do not be deceived.17Everything that is good and perfect is a gift from God. It comes from the Father who created the universe, who never changes as moving shadows do.18Through the Word of truth, He chose to give us new birth so that out of His whole creation we are those who come first, as His own children.19My dear brothers, be sure to take notice of this: Everyone should be quick to listen but slow to speak or become angry.20Man's anger can never bring about the good life that God desires.21So rid yourselves of everything that is morally corrupt and the evil that is so prevalent today. Instead, accept humbly the seed of God's Word that has been planted in your heart, for this can save you.Do what the Word says22-24You deceive yourselves if you only listen to God's Word. You need to do what He says, for the person who listens to the Word but fails to act on it is like someone who sees his face in a mirror and then immediately forgets what he looks like.25By contrast, the person who takes seriously what God commands us to do enjoys freedom. He continues to obey because he does not forget what he has heard, and so is blessed in what he does.26Anyone who considers himself to be a good religious person, and yet does not keep tight control of his tongue, simply deceives himself. His religion is useless.27The kind of religious life that is accepted by God, because it is pure and genuine, is typified by those who care for orphans and widows who are in need and who refuse to allow the world to corrupt them.

  • S.O.A.P.

In order to go further in the mission God has given us, He said we need to go deeper in our relationship with Him. As with any tree or plant, the fruit is determined by the health and depth of the root. One way we have been going deeper is by reading and journaling through the Word every day. We’ve called it S.O.A.P.

    [S]cripture - Read the Word
[O]bservation - Write down what God is saying/showing you
[A]pplication - How do we apply this in our lives?
[P]rayer - Pray through and over your life

As we read the Word (Scripture), listen to the Holy Spirit (Observation), discover how to apply that to our lives (Application) and pray these things over our lives and those in the Church (Prayer) we’re going deeper in our relationship with God so that we can go further in the mission He’s given us.

Throughout the rest of the year we’ll be continuing our Bible Reading Plan to press deeper into God so that we can go further in His purposes. Get yourself a Bible, a journal and a pen and SOAP your way through the scriptures!

You can see which chapters we’re reading today above this section.
